Subject
Objection to NIAC’s Participation in the Iran Panel – January 30
Message
Dear Committee/Organiser,
I am writing to formally express my serious concern regarding the planned panel discussion on Iran scheduled for Friday, January 30, which includes the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) as a participant.
NIAC does not represent the Iranian people. It does not represent Iranian civil society, the Iranian opposition, or the victims of the Islamic Republic.
Instead, NIAC is widely perceived within the Iranian diaspora as an organization that whitewashes, normalizes, and politically launders the Islamic Republic of Iran and its crimes.
Millions of Iranians have suffered under this regime through:
• executions
• imprisonment
• torture
• repression of women
• suppression of free speech
• state violence
• corruption and economic destruction
Any organization that promotes engagement with, legitimization of, or soft narratives about this regime cannot credibly claim to represent the Iranian people.
Including NIAC in a panel about Iran misrepresents Iranian voices and legitimizes a narrative that is deeply offensive to victims, dissidents, and the global Iranian community.
I respectfully urge you to reconsider NIAC’s participation and to ensure that voices representing the Iranian people, not the Islamic Republic, are included instead.
Sincerely,

Global Day of Action: Standing With the Lion and Sun Revolution in Iran
Saturday, February 14, 2026
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, Iranians and allies across the world will rise together for a Global Day of Action in solidarity with the Lion and Sun Revolution in Iran. From Toronto to Munich, Los Angeles, and cities worldwide, this unified moment is a declaration that the Iranian people are not alone and that the world is watching.
This day is not symbolic theater. It is a coordinated demand for accountability, freedom, and the restoration of dignity to a nation that has endured decades of repression.
Why This Global Day Matters
For years, Iranians inside the country have paid a brutal price for demanding basic human rights. Peaceful protestors have been met with violence, censorship, imprisonment, and execution. Despite these risks, the movement has not died. It has evolved, organized, and found its voice beyond borders.
The Lion and Sun represents continuity with Iran’s deeper civilizational identity — one rooted in sovereignty, justice, and national pride, not theocratic rule. This global action is about reclaiming that identity and amplifying the voices that the regime has tried to silence.
A United Front Across Cities
What makes this day powerful is its simultaneity. When thousands gather at the same time in multiple global capitals, the message becomes impossible to ignore.
-
Toronto — a major hub of the Iranian diaspora and political advocacy
-
Munich — a historic center for Iranian exile communities and resistance organizing
-
Los Angeles — home to one of the largest Iranian populations outside Iran
-
And cities across Europe, North America, and beyond
Each gathering is local, but the demand is global.
What We Are Demanding
This Global Day of Action calls on governments, institutions, media, and international bodies to move beyond statements and take real action, including:
-
Formal recognition of the Iranian people’s right to self-determination
-
Targeted sanctions against regime officials responsible for human rights abuses
-
Accountability for crimes committed against protestors
-
Support for free expression, uncensored internet access, and political prisoners
-
An end to legitimizing a regime that rules through fear
Neutrality is no longer acceptable. Silence is complicity.
Why February 14
While the world often associates February 14 with celebration, this date is being reclaimed as a day of collective courage and solidarity. Love for Iran means standing up when it matters most, not looking away when it is uncomfortable.
This is a reminder that freedom is not granted. It is demanded.
How You Can Participate
-
Show up to your local rally
-
Bring the Lion and Sun flag and wear visible symbols of solidarity
-
Document and share responsibly on social platforms to counter censorship
-
Engage elected officials before and after the event
-
Support Iranian-led organizations working on the ground and in exile
If you cannot attend in person, amplify the message online and through your networks. Every voice matters.
A Message to the World
The Iranian people have been clear. They are not asking for pity. They are demanding partnership, pressure, and principled action.
On February 14, 2026, the world has a choice:
Stand with freedom — or be remembered for looking away.
History is watching.
Iran is watching.
And this time, the response must be louder than the silence.
Join the Global Day of Action.
