Good airport, quick service. Not much English is spoken and understood. So come prepared with required necessary information yourself. Best way to commute to Tehran city is metro but that operates at limited specific timings only. Other option is Taxi. While departure from here, do NOT rely on duty free shopping here, as prices are expensive and choices are limited. Instead do all shoppings in cities as better options at reasonable prices are availzlabke there.
I don’t usually like to be negative but this airport have to be a lot better than what it is now. It can be a lot more cleaner and get the staff to be trained to behave and be polite to the tourists entering the country. When I landed here no body have a smile on their faces. Lift the attitude uppp! Show smile as it passes the energy! 🫰🏻
Hello everyone I never ever share someone photo like this before but at this point I’m sharing my experience to warn others people about this taxi driver which you can see in the photos. I was with him from Mehrabad airport to imam Khomeini airport I had international flight. I was inside Mehrabad airport and there was a lady from taxi business I went there i was agreed with the price VIP 1316000 and take a photo for prof. When I reached the imam Khomeini airport and I want to pay the taxi driver suddenly changed his mind and ask for usd dollars and I say that I’m going to Europe not to America and I don’t have usd dollars than he said that I’m not accepting 1316000 you have to give me 400000 which is more than two time than agree fare. And than he looked my bags in his car trunk than I ask help from police but doesn’t work and last he agreed for 3000000 which two time than agreed fare and I paid to him because I didn’t had any other option. And I was really tired that day and it’s really painful when someone taken your money like this way . If you want to be safe and fine so remember this stupid and fornicator taxi driver .
Imam Khomeini International Airport is okay, but nothing special. The building is modern, but it could be better maintained. The check-in process can sometimes be slow, especially during busy times, and the staff are hit or miss—some are helpful, others not so much. There aren’t a lot of food or shopping options, so it’s not the best place to hang out for long. The seating areas are alright, but they could use some improvement. It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not one of the better airports out there.
You could easily place this airport among the small ones in the world with the limited facilities. Not that much hygiene in toilets. X-ray control of luggage, although you have to put your luggage on the belt. A bunch of people, as usual, are standing right outside the exit and stubbornly asking if you want a taxi. My advice is to void all such taxi and go directly to the taxi stand in the departure hall.
