Went for winterlicious. Green P in walking distance. Portion sizes WERE MASSIVE for a 3 course winterlicious. The roasted eggplant appetizer was delicious. The bread was served cold/room temperature. The kashk and fesenjan were very oily. The kebabs were HUGE, but just alright. The pistachio roll was amazing, not overly sweet, however, something tasted "off" about the baklava (not sure if stale).
One of the best Persian restaurants in the town. Kebab plates were delicious. Services was pretty fast. The only issue was the air conditioning. The indoor temp was a bit high for a dine in!
It was a truly delightful experience, and the service was exceptional. The highlight of the menu was Torsh Kebab, and for those who appreciate sweeter dishes, Gheyme Nesar is also highly recommended. While Koobideh did not particularly appeal to my palate, the restaurant itself is beautiful, boasting an amazing and authentic design, and offers good food overall.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. The worst part was the food. We ordered the Bonab kabab and the Queen Special kabab, and honestly, this was the worst kabab I’ve had in my entire life. The taste was awful, there was no real flavor of meat at all. It felt like the meat was heavily mixed with fillers to cut costs rather than prepared properly. For a price of around $25 before tax, this quality is unacceptable. Even $15 would be too much for what was served. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, and the design is not bad, but it has much more potential. Simple improvements : like rearranging or replacing the large wall picture and refreshing the décor, could really elevate the space. Service was very slow. It took more than 10 minutes just to receive menus and order food , even though there were two servers and only five tables. A server should prioritize greeting guests and offering menus before making cocktails for other tables. There was live piano music. The pianist clearly tried his best and did a good job, but honestly, it felt unnecessary. The cost of live music would be much better invested in improving food quality, which should always be the priority. Overall, the entire experience was bad, and we will never return.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very cozy. The atmosphere feels welcoming, and the staff were all super friendly and attentive. The presentation of the food was impressive — every dish looked great when it arrived. However, the prices were quite high compared to other upscale Persian restaurants in Toronto. Some items were nearly double the price, which could still be acceptable if the taste matched the presentation — but unfortunately, it didn’t. We started with Kashk Bademjoon, which was okay. Later, when one of our friends joined and ordered the same appetizer, we noticed that the portion was significantly smaller than the first one. The Lamb Koobideh was juicy and well-cooked, but it still had a strong lamb smell and didn’t seem properly marinated. The other main courses we tried were also just average — not bad, but not impressive either. When you pay $55 for two skewers of normal Vaziri kebab which they somehow renamed it to Shiraz Kebab (while other high-end Persian restaurants charge around $20–$35), you naturally expect something exceptional. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t quite justify the price. I suggest revisiting the pricing to align it better with the level of expectation and to increase customer satisfaction — especially since other reviewers have raised similar concerns. It might also be worth reviewing the recipes and overall kitchen process to ensure the food’s flavour and quality consistently meet a high standard that matches the restaurant’s beautiful ambiance and presentation.
